Universe by Kashuks is an unusual release; previously known for aggressive trap music, the slow, gentle song seems out of character for this Ukrainian producer. The music video matches the slow, surreal movement of the song to incredible effect.
Narrative
There seems little emphasis on plot. although their does seem to be the essential idea of the crystals coming together, the stress here is undoubtedly on the visual style instead of the story. The focus is on matching the mood of the song, which makes sense given a lack of lyrics.
Effects
The video is seemingly all shot with a macro lens. This contrasts the title of the song and the theme of the video, the universe. This juxtaposition create a surreal, unreal feeling to the video that nicely compliments the effects of the music. At the end, when the music increases in tempo, the video matches this by now featuring very fast moving shots of brightly coloured liquid. This adherences to the flow of the song is effective, making the video much more pleasurable to watch.
Strangely, the video contains a single, black and white shot of a soundboard and another of the artist. It feels out of place, and it is hard to say why it was included. Given that this artist is self produced, it can be assumed he made the video himself, and probably just wanted to attach his image to the video to help increase branding.
